I admit it ... I'm a 24 fan ...
I'm also a Jack Bauer fan ... hehe ...

each season of “24,” ...
depicts a single, panic-laced day ...
in which Jack Bauer—a heroic C.T.U. agent ...
played by Kiefer Sutherland ...
must unravel and undermine a conspiracy ...
that imperils the nation ...
Terrorists are poised to set off nuclear bombs ...
or bioweapons ... or in some other way ...
annihilate entire cities ...

Been watching 24 season 6 for a while now ...
But I'm not that crazy how day 6 is progressing ...
At the start of this season ...
The president negotiated a deal to get Jack back ...
He was away in China ... getting tortured and stuff ...
And in 2 hours he is jumping fences and shooting good ...
I don't like when his family gets involved ...
In the previous seasons it was his daughter and wife ...
In this season its his dad and brother ...
I didn't like it then ... and i don't like it now ...
Let Jack be just himself ...
And let him do what he does best ...
Kick some terrorist asses to the ground ...

A town lifeless … waking up … ?

Hello ...
Had a hard time getting to office today ...
Most of the roads were blocked around my office ...
Tried to go out for breakfast around 1000 hrs ...
But there were police all around ...
They didn't let us leave our building ...
Guess it was all necessary for the visiting delegation ...
It was all good ... i kinda understand it ...
But when we did managed to get out ...
I took a good look around my building ...
It felt kinda weird ... the roads were so empty ...
Not a single moving vehicle ... nor pedestrians ...
I've never seen anything like it ...
It was 1030 hrs on a working day ...
And there was not a soul to be seen ...
I almost expected Milla Jovovich ... (think: resident evil) ...
To jump out of a window ... shattering glass ...
Pistols blazing ... a shotgun slung over her back ...
Hehe ... that would have been a kewl sight ... hehe ...
And slowly the ghost town woke up to a normal afternoon ...

Friends you make at check-in counters …

Hello …
Imagine this conversation … does it ring a bell … ?

Guy :: Friend, are you Maldivian … ?
Me :: Yes, I am …
Guy :: Can we check-in together friend… I’m kinda heavy …
Me :: I’m not light either … err … but lets try …
Guy :: OK …

The guy behind the counter doesn’t like this …
So he goes on about how we are not booked together …
And all sorts of airline jargon thingies …
To deter us from checking in together …
The guy behind me takes over the conversation from me …
I was 19 kgs … and he was 9 kgs overweight …
And somehow we end up checking in together …
And the guy didn’t pay a single dollar for excess baggage …
Check-in over, we go our separate ways …
The guy didn’t even thank me … he just left …
I took a casual walk and went to grab a bite to eat …
I bump into the guy there as well ...
He was at the end of the order line …
So I went and stood behind him …
He was loudly speaking into his cell phone …
Apparently he didn’t even notice me …
I boarded the plan a while later …
And this guy comes trudging behind me …
He didn’t even seem to recognize me …
No hello, no raised eyebrows … no nods …

I’m not complaining here …
I don’t mind helping out a fellow Maldivian …
Hell, I don’t mind helping out any traveler …
But I wouldn’t mind an occasional thank you …
